Charcotabs for intestinal gas Charco is one of many brands under the Key Pharmaceuticals umbrella and treats intestinal gas. It works by a process called adsorption that collects toxic substances on the surface. Charcoal is an inert material, which passes through the intestines without being absorbed into the body. It absorbs gases and thereby helps relieve flatulence, fullness and bloating. Note: Each capsule of charcotabs contains 250mg of activated vegetable charcoal. Charcotabs contain sucrose and lactose. Warning: Charcotabs 250mg may sometimes cause darkening of the faeces and may interfere with the absorption of other medicines. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Charcotabs 250mg should be used with caution in children since activated charcoal may interfere with absorption of nutrients. Not recommended for long term use.
